Winner of the just-concluded local government election in Igbo-Eze North LGA, Enugu State, Uchenna Michael Ogalla has praised the democratic credentials of the Enugu State Governor, Dr Peter Mbah, saying the Governor’s love for the democratic process made him create an enabling environment that allowed for a free, fair and credible council election in the State.
Ogalla polled 103, 930 votes to defeat the APC candidate, Sydney Eze who polled 1, 330 votes and the Labour Party candidate, Onuora Odo who came a distant third with 871 votes.

Expressing gratitude to the Almighty God for his victory in the election, Ogalla said the victory is not a personal achievement but rather reflects the strength of the people of Igbo-Eze North, democracy and the collective will and unity of the communities.
“The scripture in Psalm 118:24 says: “this is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it”. In the same vein, I thank the electoral officers who worked diligently to uphold the integrity of our elections and tenets of democracy. The professionalism and commitment of ENSIEC electoral officers to a transparent process in the just concluded council election ensured that the will of the people of Igbo Eze North LGA prevailed,” Ogalla said.
“Together, we have the opportunity to build a local government that is inclusive, responsive and dedicated to serving every son and daughter and residents of Igbo Eze North Local Government regardless of political affiliation”
