President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside Vice President Kashim Shettima and his wife Nana Shettima, arrived in Kaduna State on Saturday afternoon, October 24, 2026, to officially launch the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections.

President Tinubu landed at the Kaduna International Airport on Saturday afternoon, where he was received by the host governor, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, alongside APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, Campaign Director-General Senator Abdulaziz Yari, and Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun. A delegation of cabinet ministers, federal lawmakers, and senior security chiefs also joined the reception line on the tarmac.

Vice President Kashim Shettima and Second Lady Nana Shettima arrived earlier in the day to join state officials in receiving the President and overseeing final preparations.

Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications (Office of the Vice President), confirmed the Vice President’s arrival and participation in an official statement issued to journalists on Saturday.

The massive campaign flag-off took place at the Kaduna Township Stadium, serving as the official launchpad for the ruling party’s nationwide re-election drive under the “Renewed Hope 2.0” campaign banner.

Ahead of the presidential delegation’s arrival, security personnel from the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigerian Army, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) established security cordons along major roundabouts and access roads leading into the stadium.

The venue saw thousands of party delegates, supporters, and political groups, including the Arewa for Asiwaju network, converge on the state capital from across the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Addressing the crowd inside the packed stadium, President Tinubu defended his administration’s economic policy adjustments while soliciting a second-term mandate to consolidate national recovery.

He reiterated that critical structural reforms, including the removal of the fuel subsidy, were necessary measures to eliminate systemic corruption and position the country for long-term financial stability.

Presenting the party’s platform alongside the President, key government and party communicators, including Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Ajuri Ngelale, and APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka, emphasized that the 2027 campaign will center on structural economic reforms, infrastructural development, and national security achievements.

The Kaduna rally marks the beginning of a multi-state campaign tour across the six geopolitical zones. According to details outlined by Campaign Director-General Senator Abdulaziz Yari, the APC Presidential Campaign Council will take the nationwide campaign to Rivers State, Borno State, Plateau State, Oyo State, Enugu State, and Bauchi State over the coming weeks as part of the initial phase of the 2027 general election campaign schedule.
