Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser on Policy Communication to President Bola Tinubu, has strongly criticized the opposition Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) following the unveiling of its National Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections.

Bwala dismissed the opposition’s campaign setup in a statement issued on Sunday afternoon, October 25, 2026, in Abuja, describing the newly appointed council members as predominantly “content creators” lacking the political depth required for a national election campaign.

The NDC announced its leadership line-up earlier on Sunday during a press briefing at its National Secretariat in Abuja. The opposition coalition named former Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, as Council Chairman, alongside former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi as Co-Chairman.

The party’s National Secretary, Barrister Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu, was designated Council Secretary, while Mallam Ibrahim Hussain Abdulkarim was appointed Director-General of the campaign council.

Reacting to the development via an official statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday afternoon, Bwala poked fun at the opposition’s strategy.

”@PeterObi and NDC have released their list of campaign council members; and as expected, it is filled with content creators,” Bwala stated. “They stylishly refused to name their campaign media surrogates in the mainstream media masquerading as OAPs.”

The exchange highlights escalating political hostilities as political parties begin shaping their strategic structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Bwala argued that substituting seasoned political strategists with social media influencers and online content creators demonstrates that the opposition remains unready for serious national governance.

The NDC has yet to issue an official counter-response to Bwala’s comments; however, party officials previously maintained that the campaign council reflects a broad-based, inclusive coalition aimed at engaging Nigeria’s youth demographic.
