Following the massive turn-out at the All Progressives Congress (APC) regional campaign rally in Cross River State, prominent party chieftain and former Cross River North senatorial aspirant, Chief Dr. John Onyi Agaba, has declared that the event signals a decisive victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Prince Bassey Edet Otu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In an official statement released in Abuja on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, through media spokesperson Okwe Obi, Dr. Agaba hailed the successful hosting of the rally on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at the historic U.J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar.

He noted that the enthusiasm displayed by party faithful and Cross River residents reflects strong grassroots alignment with the APC-led administrations at both the federal and state levels.

The campaign rally featured Vice President Kashim Shettima representing President Tinubu, alongside Governor Otu as host, reaffirming major federal infrastructure commitments to the South-South region.

Key priorities highlighted during the event included the completion of the Bakassi Deep Sea Port, the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project, and the operationalization of the Gulf of Guinea Secretariat in Cross River State.

Dr. Agaba, a business law scholar and prominent APC stakeholder, emphasized that Vice President Shettima’s presence in Calabar demonstrated the administration’s deep commitment to the economic development of the South-South zone. He also lauded Governor Otu’s leadership style in fostering political stability and unity across the state’s three senatorial districts.

Urging APC members and residents to maintain momentum, Dr. Agaba called for sustained unity and active civic participation as the ruling party consolidates its political structures ahead of the 2027 polls.
