The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed that an abduction incident occurred at Kurmin Wali, a remote community in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, following earlier uncertainty over the reports.

In a statement posted on its official X handle on Tuesday night, the Force said it received credible reports of the abduction, which had sparked widespread concern among residents of the area and members of the public.

According to the statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, the incident prompted swift security and government response at the state level.

Hundeyin disclosed that the Kaduna State Governor subsequently convened an emergency meeting of the State Security Council at the Government House in Kaduna to assess the situation and coordinate security efforts.

The police noted that security agencies have been mobilised to the affected community, while investigations and operations aimed at rescuing the abducted persons and apprehending the perpetrators are ongoing.

The Force assured the public that it is working closely with other security agencies to restore calm and ensurer the safety of residents in the area.
