Popular broadcast journalist, human rights activist, and Accord Party governorship aspirant, Oriyomi Hamzat, has raised the alarm over an alleged sinister plot by unnamed individuals to plant illicit substances on the premises of his radio station, Agidigbo 88.7 FM.
According to Hamzat, the scheme is designed to frame him for criminal activities, thereby providing a legal pretext for authorities to seal off or completely demolish the Ibadan-based media outfit.
Speaking in a viral social media broadcast, the media entrepreneur claimed that recent political and social developments in Oyo State have made him a target of a coordinated intimidation campaign.
Hamzat alleged that operatives acting on the instructions of his detractors have already attempted to infiltrate the station under false pretenses.
”Some arrests and demolitions are already ongoing in Oyo State. I heard they wanted to plant hard drugs inside Agidigbo and pretend they brought an issue to the station,” Hamzat stated. “We saw the people sent yesterday to carry out the plan, and we are still expecting others they intended to send.”
Beyond the alleged drug-planting ring, the Agidigbo FM founder also revealed a secondary plot aimed at destabilizing his political aspirations with the Accord Party.
He claimed that plans are underway to hire political thugs, dress them in the signature yellow attire of the Accord Party, and instruct them to commit violent crimes and publicly link the orchestrated criminality to his governorship campaign then tarnish his public image and justify aggressive state or security action against him.
While Hamzat refrained from naming specific politicians or government officials behind the alleged sabotage, he maintained that his team remains highly vigilant.
The allegations have sparked widespread reactions across social media, with listeners, supporters, and media rights advocates calling on security agencies to investigate the claims and ensure the protection of the independent broadcasting station.
