Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has officially declared the 2024 Aba International Trade Fair open at the Aba Mega Mall along the Aba Port Harcourt expressway.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the trade fair is a joint effort between the Abia State Government and the Aba Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (ACCIMA).

Otti, declaring the trade fair open on Saturday in Aba, expressed his satisfaction with the organisation of the trade fair.

The Governor assured that his government is committed to making the fair beneficial to traders and the people of the state.

Chief Nwaka Inem, Chairman of the Planning Committee, described the fair as a bold statement announcing Aba’s return as a hub for commerce and entrepreneurship in West Africa.

He emphasised that the gains from the trade fair would extend beyond immediate sales but would also foster connections and deals in the weeks, months and years to come.

President of ACCIMA, Mr Geoffrey Uzuagbara, highlighted the significance of the trade fair in showcasing Aba as an investment destination.

He lauded Gov Otti’s state reforms, which have positively impacted various sectors of the economy.

Dr Uche Maraizu, in his presentation, identified numerous challenges to business growth in the state, including the need for good leadership, security, infrastructure, technology, and global competitiveness.
