I have seen you make the solemn sign of the cross on several occassions , which presupposes that you are a Christià n, the same as the Ukrainians. How on earth can Christians be slaughtering fellow Christians to complement and justify the beheadings and suicidè bombings of Christians by Islamic fundamentalists? This amounts to double jeopardy, as a house divided against itself ceases to exist, sooner or later. Boko Haram and ISIS, the jihadìsts, have wrecked harvoc on their Christian, Nigerian neighbours. That may appear religiously understandable but, alas, two supposedly enlightened Christià n brothers are at daggers drawn, is simply sacrilegious, reminiscent of the Cain and Abel saga of yester years.
Black Africans like me look up to you as civilized mentors having conquered land, sea and the universe, landing vehicles on the moon and heading to Mars. To imagine that you can not resolve your differences with Ukraine is akin to putting you on the same pedestal with the juvenile Jihadists and the average 3rd World African.
Come to think of it, you bear the same first name with your Ukranian counterpart. My second son, Sankara, completed his masters program in Karkiv University and he studied in the Russian language there in Ukraine six short years ago.
Benevolent God has blessed Russia with enormous land and wealth. The entire Europe depends on you for natural gas and you export crude oil in exponential proportions. If Hitler and Napoleon could not overrun USSR neither can NATO, let alone Ukraine. Your military might can consume mankind, including Russia, at the touch of a button.
One thing lacking in Russia today is peace with your neighbors, which the Bible postulates we should seek and pursue diligently.
At school decades ago, we were taught the USSR was the world’s largest grower of wheat, maybe Ukraine was that part of the USSR. Some months ago, several tons of grains were shipped from Ukraine, still at war with Russia, to feed hungry Nigerians, for free. In my naivety, that was true righteousness.
Russia has so much to offer mankind, not just to North Korea or Iran. We all need more friends than foes, to engender healthy competition rather than naked confrontation.
I witnessed war in Biafra as a lone tank commander where Russian Migs and murderous Illushin bombers buried Biafran babies that meant no harm to humanity, flown by Egyptian and Warsaw Pact pilots. Recently, a retired Russian pilot apologized to Biafrans and God Almighty for the unjustified aggression without any provocation whatsoever. I expect that someday soon you will lead your great country to the UN to apologize for the genocide unleashed on Biafrans, seeing the dismal state of the Nigeria today that Britain and Russia supported to the hilt during the Biafran war.
We have fought enough avoidable and senseless wars for too long.
Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called sons and partners with God, so says the Holy Bible.
What Gorbachev and Ronald Raegan meant to achieve through Perestroika and Glasnost, you could achieve with your friend Donald Trump if you work as sincere and true Christians. Therefore in the name of Christ-like civilization, PLEASE END THE WAR TODAY and save the lives of your handsome young men who deserve to enjoy the dividents of peace and tranquility.
