The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) management has issued new operational guidelines for all Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) slated to attend the upcoming Batch ‘B’ Orientation Course, reinforcing its strict stance on administrative compliance and route safety.
​Speaking at a media briefing on Monday, August 3, 2026, at the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja, the Director-General, Brigadier General Yusha’u Ahmed, warned PCMs against embarking on late-night journeys to their assigned states.
Travelers unable to reach their destination before 6:00 PM are instructed to halt their journey and pass the night at military barracks, NYSC Secretariats, or designated safe zones. Corps members are advised against boarding unmarked vehicles or traveling from unauthorized motor parks.
​The scheme has tightened entry requirements to curb credentials falsification and streamline camp registration across all 37 orientation centers, including the Federal Capital Territory.
Camp officials have been instructed to turn away any candidate whose graduation date on their Statement of Result conflicts with the date displayed on the NYSC portal. Affected PCMs must resolve these inconsistencies through their institution’s Student Affairs Office before re-screening.
PCMs must present physical copies of their green cards, signed call-up letters, and original educational credentials.
​The management emphasized that state coordinators have been fully empowered to enforce these directives strictly, assuring the public that security agencies are fully briefed to secure major transit corridors leading to orientation camps nationwide.
