The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially distanced itself from various lists of electoral candidates currently circulating on social media platforms for the upcoming elections in Imo, Abia, Anambra, and other affected states. They have labelled it “fake and unauthorized.”

In a statement released on Friday, the party categorically labeled the circulating documents as fake, unauthorized, and the handiwork of mischief-makers aiming to mislead the public and cause distractions within the party structure.

The NDC leadership urged party members, supporters, and the general public to completely disregard the viral lists, emphasizing that official candidate flags and confirmations would only be communicated through the party’s authorized publicity channels.

”We wish to state unequivocally that the NDC has not released any official list of candidates for the elections in Imo, Abia, Anambra, and other affected states,” the statement read. “The lists currently trending on social media are forged and do not emanate from the national secretariat.”

The party added that it remains committed to a transparent internal democratic process and will publish the authentic names of its flagbearers at the appropriate time in accordance with electoral guidelines.
