The National President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Engr. Jani Ibrahim, has praised the Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, for his administration’s decisive actions in tackling insecurity and establishing an enabling environment for private investments.
​The commendation was made on Friday, September 18, 2026, during a courtesy visit by a high-powered NACCIMA delegation to Governor Mbah at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Enugu. Engr. Jani Ibrahim stressed that security is the foundation of economic progress and the primary pillar of NACCIMA’s STEAMS agenda (Security, Technology, Education, Agriculture, Manufacturing, and Solid Minerals).
He noted that without adequate security, commercial operations cannot survive. NACCIMA declared its readiness to partner with the Enugu State Government to assist in expanding the state’s economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion by 2031.
NACCIMA proposed for joint trade fairs, investment summits, and public-private partnerships (PPPs) for industrial parks. A disclosure of NACCIMA’s active partnership with institutions in Frankfurt, Germany, offering industrialists access to funding up to $10 million at single-digit interest rates for terms up to 7.5 years.
The promotion of Nsukka yellow pepper as a flagship export commodity and proposing Enugu as a host state for the Renewed Hope NACCIMA Village to boost rural enterprises and curbs migration.
​In his response, Governor Peter Mbah expressed gratitude to the leadership of NACCIMA, referring to the organization as the “voice of the Nigerian business community.” He reiterated that his administration’s economic master plan relies on leveraging private sector capital while government serves as an enabler and de-risker.
​Main Security and Economic Measures Highlighted by Governor Mbah includes the elimination of Sit-at-Home; The administration ended the illegal Monday sit-at-home order within its first three months in office to restore commercial predictability.
Tech-Driven Security Infrastructure: Deployment of a Safe City Surveillance System, a central Command and Control Centre, and a Distress Response Squad backed by AI-enabled cameras.
Private Sector Inflows: Security improvements have restored investor confidence, reviving key enterprises and assets such as United Palm Products, Sunrise Flour Mill, Nigergas Limited, Hotel Presidential, and Landmark Nike Lake Resort.
Manufacturing & Infrastructure: Government backing for local industries, including the Enugu Haier Factory, a local tractor assembly plant, over 7,000 smart classrooms, and the launch of Enugu Air alongside ongoing international airport upgrades.
