Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin (APC, Kano North), has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will secure re-election in the January 16, 2027 presidential poll, citing prevailing political indicators and expert analyses.

The optimistic assessment was contained in a formal press statement issued on Sunday afternoon, November 1, 2026, in Abuja by Senator Barau’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir.

According to the release, current political realities across the country and independent assessments by political analysts overwhelmingly point toward a successful second-term bid for the incumbent president.

Speaking against the backdrop of the newly inaugurated All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council for the Kano North Senatorial District, Senator Barau urged party members to build a united front to secure an across-the-board victory.

The campaign council, chaired by Alhaji Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi, was charged with launching an exhaustive grassroots mobilization drive across every ward and local government area within the district.

Highlighting Kano State’s strategic position as Nigeria’s second-largest electoral battleground after Lagos State, the Deputy Senate President emphasized that the party must translate its massive numerical strength into a total “top-to-bottom” victory for all APC candidates in the upcoming general elections.

Senator Barau further called on party supporters across northern Nigeria and the wider nation to remain steadfast behind the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, pointing to ongoing structural reforms, economic stabilisation policies, and key regional infrastructure projects as evidence of the administration’s progress.
