Asaba, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has declared President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections as his administration’s top political priority, calling on party stakeholders and supporters to unite behind the effort.
Speaking during a public appearance in Delta State, Oborevwori said securing a second term for Tinubu had become his “number one political project,” reaffirming his support for the President and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). “Securing President Bola Tinubu’s re-election is now my number one political project,” the governor said.
The declaration comes amid growing political alignments and early positioning by parties and political actors ahead of the next election cycle. Political observers say the endorsement is significant given Delta State’s strategic importance within the South South region and its history of competitive electoral contests.
Supporters of the governor argue that closer cooperation with the federal government could strengthen development efforts and attract additional investments to the state.
However, critics say greater attention should remain focused on local issues including infrastructure, unemployment, and environmental concerns affecting communities across Delta State.
Oborevwori also indicated that party structures and grassroots mobilization efforts would be strengthened as preparations gradually begin ahead of future political contests.
