The Katsina State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed the death of nine persons in a road crash on Sunday – today, March 30 – morning.
According to the FRSC Sector Commander, Aliyu Ma’aji, the crash occurred along the Malumfashi-Kafur road involving a 20-seater Hummer bus from Katsina town.
He noted that preliminary investigations attributed the incident to over-speeding which might have led the driver to lose control and skid off the road.
Nine other people with varying degrees of injuries were evacuated to a hospital, Ma’aji said and urged motorists to avoid over-speeding, overloading and reckless driving at all times.
