The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akwa Ibom Council, has commiserated with Gov. Umo Eno over the demise of his wife, Patience.

This is contained in a statement signed and issued today (Friday, September 27) by the Chairman, Mr. Amos Etuk, and the Secretary, Mr. Dominic Akpan, in Uyo.

The NUJ described the late wife of the Governor as an extraordinary woman who had touched the lives of many in the society.

The union said the late Mrs. Eno used her pet project, Golden Initiative For All, to impact positively on the world around her.

“Her presence will be deeply missed, but her impact on the lives of many will never be forgotten,” the statement read, in part.

“We are grateful to God for her life and the positive influence she had in the state.”

In his condolence message, the Paramount Ruler of Eket, Akwa Ibom, Obong Etim Abia, described the death of Mrs. Eno as shocking and devastating.

Abia who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Eket earlier today, also described the death as a ‘huge loss’

“It is sad and shocking. We can only send our sincere condolences to the governor and his family.

“As humans, we do not have control over how anybody leaves this world, death is an escapable incident.

“So we submit to the will of God. We pray God to strengthen the people of Akwa Ibom at this time of grief” he said.
