The Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, has granted Nollywood actress Doris Ogala bail in the sum of N30 million with two sureties in like sum.

The ruling was delivered during proceedings on Friday morning, November 6, 2026, following her preliminary arraignment and remand late last month over charges of alleged cyberstalking, cyberbullying, and attempted extortion involving Pastor Chris Okafor.

The defendant was initially arraigned on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, on three counts bordering on the electronic publication of false claims, attempted extortion, and harassment. She pleaded not guilty to all charges and was remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre while awaiting her bail determination.

In the decision handed down on Friday, November 6, 2026, the presiding judge granted the bail application subject to stringent conditions.

Beyond setting the bail sum at N30 million with two sureties in like sum, the court stipulated that both sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction, present proof of tax clearance for the past three years, and submit recent passport photographs for verification by the court registrar.

As part of the terms, Ogala was ordered to surrender her international passport to the court registrar, while the court explicitly issued a protection order restraining her from making any electronic publications or social media posts capable of intimidating, harassing, or threatening prosecution witnesses.

According to the prosecution team, the charges stem from allegations that the actress engaged in systematic online campaigns between 2024 and 2026 targeted at Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries.

The prosecution alleged that Ogala published unverified claims and intimate details on public platforms aimed at blackmailing and extorting the cleric.

Defence counsel Nzeakor Atulomah maintained his client’s innocence, arguing that the allegations are unsubstantiated and asserting that Ogala will comply with all court requirements to clear her name.

Speaking outside the courtroom after the morning session, defense representatives confirmed that process verification is underway, noting that Ogala will remain in custody until all bail terms are fully satisfied before her official release.

The court adjourned the matter for the commencement of full trial proceedings.
