The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has commended the Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for his unwavering support and operational commitment to the Nigerian Army and security formations across the state.
The commendation was extended during a high-profile courtesy visit to Governor Okpebholo at the Executive Council Chamber inside the Government House in Benin City.
Speaking before members of the Edo State Executive Council and senior military officers, the Army Chief explained that his operational visit aimed to evaluate ongoing military activities, inspect infrastructure developed for troop welfare, and refine multi-agency security operations across the region.
”The Nigerian Army remains deeply appreciative of the continuous support, enabling environment, and partnership extended by the Edo State Government under your leadership,” Lt.-Gen. Shaibu said.

Responding to the military delegation, Governor Monday Okpebholo reaffirmed his administration’s determination to safeguard lives and property. He pledged continued logistics and operational backing to security agencies serving within Edo State to maintain law and order and foster sustainable economic development.
