Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has commended the outgoing Commandant of the Nigerian Navy College of Accounts and Finance (NNCAF), Owerrinta, Commodore B.U. Quadri, for his dedication, professionalism, and significant contributions to the security architecture and institutional development of Abia State during his tenure.
​Governor Otti gave the commendation on Thursday afternoon during a formal farewell audience hosted at the Government House in Umuahia. The meeting, which commenced at 2:00 PM, brought together key state executive officers and high-ranking naval personnel to bid farewell to the outgoing officer and welcome his successor.
​Addressing the audience, Governor Otti expressed appreciation for Commodore Quadri’s proactive leadership, noting that his collaborative efforts with other security agencies greatly enhanced peace and stability across the state, particularly along the Isiala Ngwa and Owerrinta axis.
​”Commodore Quadri demonstrated exceptional professionalism and commitment to the service of our state and nation,” Governor Otti stated. “Under his watch at the Nigerian Navy College of Accounts and Finance, Owerrinta, the institution maintained strong community relations and provided vital support in safeguarding life and property. On behalf of the government and people of Abia State, I wish him continued success in his future military assignments.”
​Speaking on behalf of the Nigerian Navy, the outgoing Commandant, Commodore B.U. Quadri, expressed gratitude to the Abia State Government and the general public for the unalloyed support extended to him and the institution during his tour of duty. He assured the governor that the Nigerian Navy remains steadfast in its mandate to support state security initiatives.
​The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, who briefed newsmen following the closed-door session, noted that Governor Otti reiterated his administration’s commitment to prioritizing security and sustaining a robust partnership with all armed forces formations stationed in Abia State.
​The event concluded with the presentation of a state plaque of honor to Commodore Quadri by Governor Otti in recognition of his meritorious service to Abia State.
