Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has formally dismissed suggestions of a potential “rainbow coalition” ahead of the 2027 general elections, declaring that the state has firmly aligned with the All Progressives Congress (APC) as its sole political vehicle.

Speaking in Jos, on Monday, November 2, 2026, the state capital, during the official inauguration of the APC Presidential and State Campaign Councils, Governor Mutfwang declared that there is no political vacancy in either Aso Rock or the Plateau State Government House.

Characterising the political movement in Plateau as a unification movement rather than a fragmented multi-party alliance, he emphasized that the electorate has decided to move in a single direction under the ruling party’s banner.

The Governor expressed full confidence that both President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration in Plateau State will secure re-election in 2027 to consolidate ongoing infrastructure and development projects. To sustain this momentum, Mutfwang urged campaign officials and party leaders to step up grassroots mobilization efforts across all 17 local government areas.

Party leaders and campaign executives reinforced the administration’s stance during the event. Plateau State APC Chairman, Hon. Rufus Bature, highlighted the inauguration as a critical milestone toward establishing a coherent campaign structure grounded in party discipline, ward-level engagement, and institutional unity.

Meanwhile, Sir Joseph Ari, serving as Director-General of the Mutfwang/Piyo Campaign Council, assured party members that the campaign will focus strictly on issue-based, constructive outreach as the state prepares to host a major national APC rally on November 14, 2026, featuring President Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda.
