The District Head of Rigasa, Mohammed Aminu-Idris, has commended Gov. Uba Sani for assenting to the law establishing the Kaduna State College of Post-Basic Nursing Sciences in Rigasa.

Idris gave the commendation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday, in Kaduna.

He described the establishment of the college as one of the developmental initiatives the governor had brought to the community.

The traditional ruler expressed appreciation to the governor for locating the institution in Rigasa, adding that the community was grateful for the government’s development efforts.

Idris said the college would provide additional opportunities for specialised nursing education and benefit residents of Rigasa and Kaduna State.

He explained that although some privately owned nursing institutions operated in the community, the proposed college would be a government-owned facility.

“This is from the government, and I am sure it is going to go a long way in ensuring that this development is carried out and the people of Rigasa benefit from the gesture,” he said.

On the protection of government property, Idris said Rigasa had undergone significant transformation over the years, adding that its youths were law-abiding.

He noted that several state and federal government institutions were already operating in the district without incidents of damage to their facilities.

“The Rigasa of today is completely different. You have institutions by the state government and the federal government residing here in the district, and nothing has happened to them.

“Our teeming population of youths are very law-abiding, so this institution is not going to be an exception,” he said.

The district head expressed confidence that the community would embrace the college and protect it as part of the government’s development efforts.
