IGP Disu approves redeployment of police spokespersons across State commands and formations

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved the posting and redeployment of new Police Public Relations Officers (PPROs) and Public Relations Liaison Officers to selected zonal commands, state commands, and specialized formations across the Nigeria Police Force.

​The fresh postings were announced in an official statement issued on Friday, October 9, 2026, by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, at the Force Headquarters, Louis Edet House, Abuja.

According to the Force Spokesman, the strategic reshuffle is aimed at strengthening institutional communication, enhancing media engagement, and broadening public access to credible, real-time police information nationwide.

​The newly deployed spokespersons and their respective operational contact details include; SP Johnson A. Doghudje, posted as the Police Public Relations Officer for Zone 5 Command. SP Ojedele Olanrewaju Tunji, assigned to Zone 11 Command, Osogbo.

DSP Orchia Adndongu, Deployed to the Benue State Police Command and DSP Imah Unwana Victor posted to the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC).

ASP Abdulaziz Maharazu, Assigned to the Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC), Wudil, Kano. ASP Yusuf Adamu Aliyu, appointed as PPRO for the Yobe State Police Command and ASP Haruna Rashid Umar Abdullahi, deployed as Public Relations Liaison Officer for the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Gombe State.

​In the statement released on Friday morning, IGP Disu tasked the newly posted public relations personnel to project a professional, accessible, and community-oriented police force while discharging their duties.

​The Police Chief urged the spokespersons to bridge communication gaps between the Force and the general public, dominate the media space responsibly, and leverage digital platforms to counter misinformation across their commands.

​The Nigeria Police Force noted that all postings take immediate effect as part of broader ongoing efforts to modernize law enforcement operations and reinforce public trust.
