President Tinubu departed Abuja on Sunday afternoon May 3, to begin his three-nation diplomatic tour. The first leg in France is centered on President Tinubu’s reform agenda. He is expected to meet with French government officials and business leaders to discuss investment in Nigeria’s infrastructure and energy sectors, aiming to capitalize on the recent 8.34% GDP growth figures.
​The theme for this year’s summit is “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth.” The President will join other leaders to deliberate on Green Industrialization, Digital Transformation for Collaborative tech ventures between French and African startups and Financial Restructuring.
​After Nairobi, the President will head to
Rwanda for the prestigious Africa CEO Forum. This year’s theme, “Scale or Fail,” focuses on how African businesses can leverage regional integration to grow into global players.
While the President is abroad, domestic attention remains fixed on the National Security Emergency briefings back home, as his administration attempts to balance international diplomacy with urgent local security and poverty concerns.
