The Nigeria Fashion Week 2026 is set to take place in Abuja from October 1 to 4, with more than 40 Nigerian and international designers expected to showcase their collections.

The Chief Executive Officer of the event, Mr Lexy Mojo-Eyes, disclosed this in an interview on Tuesday, saying the four-day event would hold at Soul Lounge Resort, Jahi, as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence anniversary. He said the decision to move the event from Lagos to Abuja was aimed at giving designers a wider platform to showcase their creativity.

Mojo-Eyes said the event would open on October 1 with a welcome cocktail organised in collaboration with the Africa Business Club, while the official opening would take place on October 2 and be co-hosted by the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy.

He added that three runway shows would be held daily on October 2 and 3 at noon, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., with fashion entrepreneurs also exhibiting their products.

He said the final day would focus on the business aspect of the fashion industry through the Nigeria Fashion Entrepreneurial Forum, scheduled for October 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The forum is expected to bring together policymakers, financial institutions, fashion entrepreneurs and international buyers to explore ways of turning creative ideas into viable businesses and expanding market opportunities for designers.

The event will conclude on October 4 with the Nigeria Fashion Awards and Gala Fashion Night at 6 p.m., where stakeholders who have contributed to the development of the country’s fashion industry will be recognised.

Mojo-Eyes said the 2026 edition was designed to go beyond showcasing creativity by promoting entrepreneurship, investment and wider market access for designers.
