Prince Adewole Adebayo, the presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), declared on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is beatable in the upcoming 2027 general elections. He predicted that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will finish in last place when the electorate votes.

Adebayo made these remarks during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, hosted by Seun Okinbaloye. He dismissed assertions that Tinubu’s political structure and incumbency render him invincible, arguing that such claims underestimate the resolve of Nigerian voters.

”Those people are insulting Nigerians. You cannot be in government if Nigerians vote against you,” Adebayo stated. “My job is to talk to Nigerian people. We say enough is enough to poverty and insecurity… APC will come last because we will have to count how many thumbprints you get.”

Highlighting the economic challenges facing the nation, the SDP flagbearer urged citizens to reject vote-buying and financial inducements ahead of the poll.

”If people are not collecting rice and money from them, if you focus on what you need to save this generation from perpetual poverty and insecurity… we will win by God’s grace,” he added.

Adebayo also touched on key national policy issues, such as the Agriculture sector; He asserted that with proper investment, Nigeria has the capacity to feed the entire African continent within three years.

He disputed conventional definitions of fuel subsidies, stating that subsidy is a government financial mechanism rather than petrol itself and will continuously fail without supply control.

Adebayo concluded by emphasizing that four years is sufficient time for a committed government to bring meaningful development, maintaining that the 2027 election will ultimately be decided by the voters.
