The Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has extended his warmest felicitations to the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, on the occasion of his 70th birthday.
In an official statement released in Kano on Monday, August 24, by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf described the revered monarch as a monumental beacon of peace, unity, and bridge-building across Nigeria and the global Islamic community.
The congratulatory message coincided with a high-profile anniversary lecture and prayer session hosted at the Sultan Muhammadu Maccido Institute for Quran and General Studies in Sokoto, which drew prominent traditional rulers, religious leaders, and political dignitaries from across the nation.
Highlighting the Sultan’s extraordinary leadership since ascending the throne of Usman Dan Fodio, Governor Yusuf commended His Eminence for his steadfast commitment to interfaith dialogue, educational advancement, and social harmony.
”His Eminence, Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar III, has consistently demonstrated exceptional wisdom and visionary leadership,” the statement read. “Reaching the milestone of 70 years is not merely a celebration of age, but a tribute to seven decades of selfless service to humanity, advocate for the downtrodden, and unwavering dedication to the peace and stability of our great nation.”
Governor Yusuf noted that Kano State remains deeply appreciative of the Sultan’s fatherly counsel and enduring partnership in promoting developmental initiatives across Northern Nigeria and the country at large.
The Governor concluded with prayers for Almighty Allah to grant the Sultan continued good health, divine wisdom, and long life to keep steering the affairs of the Muslim Ummah and serving as a pillar of national unity.
