The Lagos State Government, through the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA), is intensifying its efforts to protect residents from dangerous substandard, counterfeit, adulterated, and unsafe products.

LASCOPA employs a proactive strategy including market surveillance, intelligence gathering, and public enlightenment to ensure products sold in Nigeria’s commercial hub are safe and genuine.

The agency has conducted numerous compliance inspections, leading to the closure of outlets selling expired goods, and warns businesses of severe sanctions, while urging consumers to remain vigilant and report suspicious products.
