Popular Nigerian pastor, Prophet Joshua Iginla of the Champion Royal Assembly has stirred conversations ahead of the 2027 general election, after he publicly advised former Anambra State governor and presidential hopeful, Peter Obi, on his political future.
Speaking during a live Sunday service, the cleric didn’t hold back as he weighed in on Nigeria’s unfolding political chessboard.
He said; “This is my political opinion: if we truly want the opposition party to present a strong challenge, Peter Obi should be the presidential candidate, with any Northerner as his running mate. That would create a real contest.”
“Peter Obi, if you accept a vice-presidential position under anyone, you risk losing your political relevance. It is better to step aside entirely than to play second fiddle. The situation is straightforward—you need patience if you truly want to lead.”
