A Nigerian woman, identified as Nihinlolawa Agoro, and two of her children have lost their lives following a devastating road accident in Texas, United States.
The fatal crash, which occurred on Sunday, March 15, 2026, also left several others injured, with victims rushed to nearby hospitals for urgent medical attention.
According to the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene of a two-vehicle collision along US-90A, between Harlem Road and Pitts Road, at approximately 9 a.m.
Authorities disclosed that an SUV carrying five occupants was traveling eastbound when a truck heading westbound reportedly lost control, crossed the median, and collided head-on with the SUV. The impact of the crash caused the truck to overturn before bursting into flames.
Emergency responders confirmed that three occupants of the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene. They include a 44-year-old woman, believed to be Agoro, alongside two young women aged 18 and 22.
The driver of the truck, a 20-year-old male, as well as two children from the SUV—a 4-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl—were rescued from the wreckage and transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators say efforts are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the crash, including whether alcohol played a role in the incident.
Preliminary findings suggest the victims may have been on their way to church at the time of the accident, based on their clothing, according to officials.
A family member, Lola Oni, confirmed the heartbreaking loss in a Facebook post, sparking an outpouring of condolences from friends and members of the community.
The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office has stated that investigations into the crash are still ongoing.
