he Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara on Tuesday, March 3rd, appointed and forwarded the names of nine individuals to the State House of Assembly for confirmation as Commissioners and members of the Rivers State Executive Council.
TheNewsGuru reports that the State House of Assembly invited the nine nominees to submit the required documents ahead of their screening and confirmation.
The Clerk of the House, Dr. Emeka Amadi made this known in a directive contained in a special government announcement issued on Tuesday.
According to the notice, the nominees are to submit forty (40) copies of their Curriculum Vitae, photocopies of their credentials and evidence of compliance with tax obligations.
“All documents are to be forwarded to the Office of the Clerk at the Assembly Quarters of the Rivers State House of Assembly,” the statement read.
The nominees invited for the screening exercise are:
- Professor Datonye Alasia;
- Mr. Tonye Bellgam;
- Professor Temple Nwofor;
- Dr. Peters Nwagor;
- Mrs. Charity Deemua;
- Tamuno Williams, Esq.;
- Mr. Lekue Kenneth;
- Otonye TKD Amachree, Esq.; and
- Sir Amairigha Edward Hart.
Following submission of the required documents, the nominees are expected to appear before the House for screening, after which lawmakers will deliberate and decide on their confirmation as members of the Rivers State Executive Council.
