The Management of Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, has officially assured students that no qualified candidate will be forced to spend an extra academic year due to un-uploaded or missing examination scores.
​The clarification came via an official press release issued on Sunday, August 23, 2026, through the LASU Centre for Information and Public Relations (CIPR).
The statement followed public outcry on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), where reports surfaced on Saturday, August 22, 2026, claiming that nearly 100 graduating students in the Department of English were at risk of delayed graduation because two lecturers failed to upload outstanding 300-level results.
​Prompted by the online reports, an internal inquiry was ordered at the University Senate Building, Ojo Main Campus, leading to the immediate resolution and uploading of the affected scores.
​”Following an enquiry by the University Management into the allegation concerning the non-upload of results of some graduating students in the Department of English, the University wishes to clarify that the Department has uploaded all outstanding results as of Sunday, 23 August 2026,” the official university statement read.
“Consequently, all students who have fulfilled all requirements for graduation will graduate with their peers in the just-concluded 2025/2026 academic session. No student who has met all graduation requirements will be required to spend an extra year on account of the issue raised.”
Official clearance confirmation released to the public and student body Monday, August 24, guaranteeing graduation for the 2025/2026 session.
​The university administration emphasized that any student whose profile still shows missing grades following this update likely has outstanding academic or administrative obligations. Such individuals are directed to liaise with their departmental officers at the Ojo campus to rectify their status.
