Okeke Chinedu Christian from Anambra State has emerged as the top scorer in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), securing a remarkable 375 out of 400. JAMB Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede announced during the board’s policy meeting in Abuja that Okeke, who chose Mechanical Engineering at the University of Lagos, led the pack, followed closely by Ayuba Simon‑Peter John (374) and Jimoh Abdulmalik Olayinka (373).

Reports confirm this is the highest UTME score recorded since 2013, sparking widespread attention across education circles. While some sources raised concerns over potential identity and admission history discrepancies, JAMB maintains that the score is legitimate and acknowledged that it could come with follow‑up checks.

Okeke’s achievement is being celebrated nationally, with students and educators lauding his outstanding performance and dedication. His feat not only inspires fellow examinees but also highlights the competitive nature of the UTME and the standards required for top-tier tertiary admissions in Nigeria.
