Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has confirmed ongoing high-level discussions with Jamaican authorities to establish direct air travel between Nigeria and Jamaica. The initiative, which aims to strengthen bilateral ties and boost tourism, trade, and cultural exchange, marks a major step in bridging the gap between West Africa and the Caribbean.

According to Keyamo, the proposed Nigeria–Jamaica direct flight would not only ease travel for business and leisure but also serve as a symbolic reconnection between African and Caribbean peoples with shared historical roots. “We are working seriously with the Jamaican government to make this route a reality,” the minister said in a statement on Sunday.
