Me:
1. What has been stated is that the Nigerian government has yet to pay its share of the funds necessary to continue the Lagos-Calabar highway project. This is the reason work has stopped. Meanwhile, the government hastily commissioned the 30km road that was funded by the Chagoury Group.
2. Let me clarify that the main objective of this project was to connect Eko Atlantic City to Lagos City, and that goal has been accomplished. The 30km highway is complete, officially commissioned, and the matter is closed.
It’s unfortunate that this huge project has been halted due to the Nigerian government not fulfilling its financial obligations.
3. Was this part of a strategic plan to open up Eko Atlantic City, especially since that project was struggling and not meeting sales expectations? Why were Nigerians misled and used to achieve the selfish objectives of a single individual?
Businesses and homes were destroyed to satisfy one person’s interests.
Now it’s clearer why only 30km of a planned 700km road was hastily commissioned. Who commissions just 4% of an ongoing project? Only someone acting unethically and fraudulently acting can pull off such a scheme.
Only Bulaba can.
