The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested the Chairman of Kiru Local Government Area, Abdullahi Mohammed, over an alleged sale of an expanse of land reserved for the construction of Kafin Maiyaki Mini Stadium.
The Commission discovered that the proceeds from the sale of the land was paid into the personal account of the Chairman
According to the investigation, a company called Mahasum had purchased the plots of land allocated for the Kafin Maiyaki Mini Stadium.
The Public Relations Officer of the anti-graft Commission, Kabir Abba Kabir, confirmed the arrest of the Chairman, explaining that  he was in their custody and cooperating with the investigators who, the PRO said, are committed to uncovering the truth behind the fraudulent sale of land
The Commission is working to root out corruption and ensure accountability in the state, Kabir added.
