A total of 422 applicants were successfully processed and enrolled on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, marking the second day of the ongoing Special Passport Intervention Exercise across the United Kingdom.
​The special outreach organised by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in coordination with the Ministry of Interior and the Nigeria High Commission in London, aims to clear outstanding backlogs, streamline fresh applications, and fast-track biometric data capture for Nigerians living across the UK.
​According to official updates released by Service Public Relations Officer, Assistant Comptroller of Immigration (ACI) Kenneth Udo, processing operations ran smoothly across designated locations starting at 8:00 AM.
The second-day figures reflect a significant increase in processing speed following technical and crowd-management refinements implemented after Monday’s opening operations.
​The multi-city intervention exercise runs from September 7 to September 26, 2026, spanning several key regional venues: The Nigeria High Commission in London, No. 9 Northumberland Avenue, starts processing daily from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Also running in other regions such as Manchester, St. Thomas Centre, Ardwick Green North, in Cardiff; City Temple Hall, Cowbridge Road East and Aberdeen: DoubleTree by Hilton, Aberdeen Treetops.
​Addressing applicants at the London center, NIS Chief Spokesperson ACI Kenneth Udo reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to delivering seamless consular services abroad.
​”Our primary objective is to ensure that no Nigerian in the UK is left stranded due to expired or unavailable travel documents,” Udo stated. “We have deployed additional biometric capturing stations and extended working hours to ensure every registered applicant is attended to efficiently.”
​The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, along with the Comptroller General of Immigration, Kemi Nanna Nandap, assured citizens that the initiative will continue operating at maximum capacity.
Applicants scheduled for the remaining sessions are advised to arrive strictly at their allocated time slots with their online application printouts, payment receipts, National Identification Number (NIN) slips, and pre-paid Royal Mail return envelopes to avoid delays.
