After President Trump issued more than 50 executive orders in his first weeks in office, the legal challenges and roadblocks have begun to add up.
Among them are:
Birthright citizenship: A U.S. district court judge yesterday indefinitely blocked Trump’s order to limit the scope of birthright citizenship. The Justice Department appealed the decision. [The Hill]
Federal worker buyouts: Another judge temporarily blocked the administration’s buyout offers to federal workers hours before the deadline, pushing it to at least Monday. More than 60,000 have already accepted the offer. [NBC News]
USAID lawsuit: Unions representing foreign-aid workers sued to stop the administration from dismantling USAID, arguing the move would cost thousands of jobs, threaten U.S. national security and lead to humanitarian crises. [USA Today]
