The Plateau Government has decorated Mr Jonathan Zam, as new Chief Vehicle Inspection Officer (VIO) for the state.
Mr Davou Jatau, the Commissioner for Transport in the state decorated the new chief VIO with new his rank on Monday in Jos.
Jatau, said that the move was necessary and part of deliberate steps by government to correct identified anomalies by previous administration.
He added that the appointment of the new VIO boss aimed at repositioning the agency for better service delivery.
Jatau, who tasked Zam on discipline, integrity and accountability, advised him to build public trust on the agency.
“This occasion is not only symbolic but also marks a renewed commitment to professionalism, discipline, and accountability within the VIO.
“Your appointment at this critical time is a call to duty and a test of leadership; the expectations are high and rightly so.
“You are entrusted with the responsibility of restoring confidence, enforcing standards fairly and ensuring that the operations of the VIO align with the laws and policies guiding its mandate.
“You must lead with integrity, uphold discipline among officers and ensure that all activities of the VIO reflect professionalism and respect for the rights of citizens
“There must be zero tolerance for misconduct, extortion or abuse of office under your leadership,” he advised.
Speaking, Zam, who thanked the state government for the opportunity to serve, promised to discharge his duty diligently
