Senator Adams Oshiomhole has debunked reports claiming he alleged that signatures were forged during the Senate Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct, and Public Petitions’ suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
​In a statement issued in Abuja, the Edo State lawmaker maintained that his recent media remarks were taken out of context, leading to false narratives in the press.
​”My remarks during an appearance on AIT’s Politics Today were misrepresented, leading to the false impression that I accused some senators of forging signatures,” Oshiomhole stated, clearing the air on the controversy.
Oshiomhole emphasized that his television appearance was twisted to create a sensationalized and inaccurate impression of division within the Senate. The lawmaker firmly denied casting aspersions on the integrity of the Senate Committee or suggesting any criminal wrongdoing regarding signatures.
The statement aims to set the record straight following widespread media reports surrounding the disciplinary actions taken by the Committee on Ethics and Public Petitions.
