The First Lady of Anambra State, Dr. Nonye Soludo, has expressed delight over the successful medical recovery of several inmates at the Anambra State Rehabilitation Home in Nteje, Oyi Local Government Area, with a number of them officially certified medically fit to return to their homes and families.
​Dr. Soludo conveyed her joy during a humanitarian visit to the facility on Monday, September 21, 2026, where she inspected the living conditions of the residents and presented essential relief materials, food items, and medical supplies to support the center’s operations and the recovering inmates.
​Speaking at the event, Mrs. Soludo commended the medical professionals, caregivers, and administrative staff at the home for their patience, dedication, and clinical expertise in guiding the inmates back to mental and physical health.
She noted that the discharge of medically certified individuals demonstrates the effectiveness of state-backed rehabilitation programs aimed at restoring dignity and hope to vulnerable members of society.
​”My heart is full of gratitude as we witness these remarkable recoveries today,” Mrs. Soludo stated during her address. “Seeing individuals who were once in vulnerable and distressed conditions now fully restored and certified ready to rejoin their communities reinforces our belief that compassionate care, professional treatment, and love can heal even the most difficult health challenges.”
​Accompanying the First Lady were key state officials, including representatives from the Anambra State Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare, who reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to providing post-discharge monitoring and economic integration support to ensure smooth transition back into society.
​Mrs. Soludo also made an earnest appeal to community members, traditional leaders, and families to embrace the returning individuals warmly and without stigmatization, emphasising that social acceptance and ongoing family support are crucial to sustaining long-term recovery and preventing relapse.
​The Anambra State Government, under Governor Charles Soludo’s administration, has continued to prioritise human capital development and social welfare interventions aimed at protecting and rehabilitating vulnerable citizens across the state.
