Chidimma Adetshina, the current Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, has officially arrived in Mexico to compete for the prestigious Miss Universe crown.

Her arrival was confirmed by Ben Bruce, Founder of the Silverbird Group, who announced the news on his verified X handle with a post stating, “Mexico here we come. Countdown to Miss Universe 2024, with Miss Chidimma Adetshina.”

The 73rd Miss Universe pageant is set to take place on November 16, 2024, at Arena CDMX in Mexico City, where more than 100 contestants from across the globe will vie for the title.

The reigning Miss Universe, Sheynnis Palacios from Nicaragua, will crown her successor at this much-anticipated event.

Born in 2001 in Soweto, South Africa, to a Nigerian father and a Mozambican mother, Chidimma will represent Nigeria at the international competition.

A video shared by the Miss Universe Nigeria organizers captured her holding the Nigerian flag proudly upon her arrival at a Mexican airport.

The organization conveyed its support with a message urging her to embody Nigeria’s vibrant spirit, stating, “Represent us with pride, strength, and grace. Bring home the crown!”

Chidimma’s journey to this moment has not been without challenges.

She initially participated in the Miss South Africa pageant but withdrew amid controversies regarding her nationality and issues related to her mother’s documentation as raised by South Africa’s Department of Home Affairs. Following this, she was invited to compete in Miss Universe Nigeria, where she successfully emerged as the winner among 24 contestants
