In line with the provisions of the Electoral Act, 2026, the National Executive Committee (NEC) has directed all State Chairmen and Local Government Area (LGA) Chairmen to immediately convene meetings with candidates and relevant stakeholders in their respective states.
The purpose of the meeting is to collate and harmonize the list of party agents to be deployed for the forthcoming general elections.
Accordingly, the party further directs as follows:
1. That State and LGA Chairmen shall meet with candidates and stakeholders to generate a comprehensive list of two sets of party agents; those for National Assembly elections and another set for Governorship/State Assembly elections. These party agents shall be scrutinised and ratified by the party’s leadership, including the presidential candidate and his running mate before training commences.
2. That the agreed list of party agents must be duly counter-signed by the State Chairman and the respective candidates to ensure authenticity and ownership; and where there is a difference of opinion between the party leadership and the candidate, the choice of the candidate would prevail.
3. That the exercise shall be concluded and the final list submitted within two weeks from the date of this directive.
The leadership of the party wishes to reassure all members, supporters and stakeholders that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is fully prepared and ready for a robust, issue-based campaign, with all necessary structures firmly in place for victory.
We appreciate the continued commitment and loyalty of all parties faithful and urge all stakeholders to comply promptly with this directive.
