Choice Nigeria, now operating as a CANAL+ company, has officially unveiled a streamlined ‘Expect More’ package lineup for its DStv and GOtv subscribers, with the restructured offerings set to take effect nationwide on Thursday, November 5, 2026. The announcement was delivered during an executive press briefing on Tuesday morning, October 27, 2026, held in Lagos, Nigeria.
The event brought together senior management to address media partners and outline the pay-TV provider’s strategic pivot toward transparent pricing and simplified content access. Presenting the new direction were Chief Executive Officer Kemi Omotosho, Head of Marketing Tope Oshunkeye, Senior Manager of Corporate Communications Caroline Oghuma, and Executive Onyinye Ezenwa.
The comprehensive revamp replaces the brand’s historically complex bouquet options with a four-tier structure designed to cater directly to distinct subscriber priorities. Under the new arrangement, DStv offerings are consolidated into Starter at ₦6,000 per month for entry-level viewing, Select at ₦11,000 per month for local drama enthusiasts, Sports at ₦21,000 per month featuring full coverage of the English Premier League and UEFA Champions League, and Premium at ₦44,500 per month for the complete entertainment catalog.
GOtv mirrors this streamlined approach across four parallel tiers designated as Easy, Starter, Select, and Sports. Addressing the audience in Lagos, MultiChoice Nigeria CEO Kemi Omotosho explained that the consolidation directly addresses shifting consumer viewing habits across mobile devices, smart televisions, and set-top boxes while aligning operations with the broader standards of parent company CANAL+.
Omotosho emphasized that the company had identified a need to eliminate bouquet fragmentation, focusing instead on delivering greater value for money and clearer choices for Nigerian households.
To lower barriers to entry alongside the tier restructuring, the company introduced a comprehensive hardware bundle priced at ₦15,000, which includes a decoder, installation accessories, and one month of baseline subscription service.
MultiChoice confirmed that existing customers with active multi-month subscriptions will experience an automated transition on November 5 without losing subscription time or value.
