The Enugu State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially unveiled its expansive 51-directorate Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections, drafting prominent political figures and elder statesmen into its advisory and leadership arms. ​The political movement gained momentum following a joint statement issued by the APC State Chairman, Dr. Martin Chukwunweike, and State Secretary, Hon. Chukwudi Nnadozie.
The party leadership revealed that the broad-based council structure was designed to ensure active participation from all communities, professional bodies, and political stakeholders across Coal City state. ​At the apex of the structure is a high-powered Advisory Council comprising political heavyweights.
Former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani; former Governor of old Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo; and former Enugu State Governors Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani, Sullivan Chime, and immediate past Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi were all named to the advisory body. Joining them are former Minister of Power Prof. Barth Nnaji, prominent industrialist Prince Arthur Eze, former Chief of Naval Staff Rear Admiral Allison Madueke (Rtd.), former Minister of Information Frank Nweke Jr., and former Governor Okwesilieze Nwodo. ​
The main campaign organ is headed directly by the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, who serves as the Council Chairman. He is supported by key executive officers including Deputy Governor Barrister Ifeanyi Ossai, Enugu State House of Assembly Speaker Hon. Uchenna Ugwu, and State Chairman Dr. Martin Chukwunweike, all serving as Vice Chairmen. Chief Charlie Mbah takes charge as Director-General, with Dr. Eric Oluedo acting as Secretary-General.
Zonal operations across the three senatorial districts are led by Deacon Okey Ogbodo for Enugu East, Dr. Dan Shere for Enugu North, and Hon. S.K.E. Udeh-Okoye for Enugu West. ​Public communications and media messaging are anchored by Barrister Steve Oruruo, who was appointed as the Campaign Spokesperson and Director of Public Communication. He is flanked by Dr. Austin Okolie as Co-Spokesperson and Dr. Malachy Agbo as Directorate Secretary.
Mainstream media efforts are directed by Dan Nwomeh alongside Secretary Dr. Reuben Onyishi, while Mazi Uche Anichukwu oversees New Media and Strategic Communication with Secretary Dr. Collins Ogbu. ​The formal inauguration of the 51 campaign directorates took place on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Enugu. Attendees and guests arrived prior to the official 3:00 PM start time.
During the inauguration ceremony, Governor Mbah charged party members to run an unapologetic campaign based on tangible performance, promising to personally visit all 68 Development Centres and wards across Enugu State to commission infrastructure projects ahead of the 2027 polls.
