Chairman of Nigeria Union of Mine Workers (NUMW) Anambra State Council, Kelvin Onyah, has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for approving mining activities in the State.

Onyah also warned illegal miners disrupting the programme of the state government to steer clear of all approved mining sites or be ready to face the wrath of the law.

He said the warning had become necessary to keep illegal miners away from any form of incursions into approved mining sites by the state government and for guaranteed safety of the environment.

“All the entire executive of Nigeria Union of Mine Workers, Anambra state, hereby appreciate Governor Chukwuma Soludo for reviewing the suspension of every mining activities in the state,” Onyah said, warning all the members of the Union against engaging in illegal mining and explaining anyone desirous of engaging in the business of mining be registered and be able to secure a mining certificate.

Onyah explained that the Governor Soludo has commenced issuance of operational licenses to duly recognized operators to ensure peace and orderliness at all the approved sites.
