A group of transporters known as Concerned Transporters in South West (CTSW) Nigeria has strongly rejected Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya’s (MC Oluomo) candidacy for the presidency of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

In a statement signed by Comrade Taiwo Ariyo and Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim, the group highlighted MC Oluomo’s lack of qualifications and questionable leadership style as key reasons for their stance.

“His leadership approach is unacceptable. He has misused union resources for personal benefit while neglecting the welfare of members. Additionally, his inability to read or write raises serious concerns,” Ariyo stated.

The group urged members from Ondo and Ekiti states to resist propaganda and support more qualified candidates from the region.

“It’s unfortunate that our brothers in Ondo and Ekiti do not realize the difficulties we faced under Oluomo’s leadership in Lagos. No one from the Lagos council would want that type of leadership at the national level. Our people suffered greatly,” they added.

They also noted that Oluomo has had conflicts with many leaders he previously worked with, including former state chairmen and current national leaders, questioning his ability to hold a sensitive position like NURTW president.

MC Oluomo’s recent resignation as chairman of the Lagos State chapter has led to speculation about his future, but this opposition could significantly impact his aspirations for the national presidency.
