It is a historic day in Abuja, on May 5, at the Moshood Abiola (MKO) National Stadium is hosting the National Women Mega Empowerment and Rally.

The event is a massive milestone for women’s advocacy in Nigeria. The rally is themed The Power of 10 Million: One Voice! One Movement!! One Choice!!!” It is organized by the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs under the leadership of Minister Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim. The goal is to mobilize a collective voice for women across all 9,410 wards in Nigeria.

A primary focus of the day is the presentation of the National Charter of Demands to the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who is the Special Guest of Honour.

The rally serves as a platform for women to formally voice their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and the “Renewed Hope” agenda.

Beyond the speeches, the event is tied to the Renewed Hope Social Impact Intervention 774, which aims to bring tangible skills, grants, and training to women in every local government area.

The rally has a massive cultural presence, with a dedicated entertainment committee featuring some of Nigeria’s biggest Nollywood and Kannywood stars, including Rahama Sadau, Eniola Badmus, Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham, and Joke Silva.

While the movement aims to reach 10 million voices nationwide, the stadium will host over 35,000 delegates from across the country.

It’s definitely going to be a high-energy atmosphere in the capital.

A “paradigm shift,” as the Minister put it, moving from simple participation to real political and economic power for Nigerian women.
