Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have intensified pressure on terrorist elements operating in the Lake Chad region, resulting in the surrender of two high-ranking commanders of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).
​The military high command confirmed that the development marks another major success in its ongoing counter-terrorism campaign, underscoring the growing impact of sustained operations against insurgent strongholds across the North-East. ​
According to military sources, the ranking commanders yielded to troops following weeks of aggressive aerial bombardments and relentless ground clearances by the joint forces of Operation Hadin Kai. ​The sustained offensive has effectively cut off critical supply routes and destroyed several tactical bases of the terrorist group within the Lake Chad fringes.
​”The surrender of these high-ranking figures is a clear indication that the enemy’s command structure is fracturing under the weight of our current operations,” a military official stated. ​The defense headquarters noted that the two surrendered commanders are currently undergoing profiling and interrogation by intelligence units. ​
This latest breakthrough follows a string of recent successes in the region, where increased military pressure has triggered a wave of capitulations among low-risk fighters, collaborators, and their families. ​
The military has reiterated its call for remaining insurgents to lay down their arms and surrender to the nearest frontline troops, emphasizing that the onslaught against recalcitrant elements will be sustained until total peace is restored to the North-East.
