Former Jigawa State Governor and PDP stalwart, Sule Lamido, has forecasted a potential fragmentation within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), suggesting that its National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, along with other members, may return to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Lamido attributes this anticipated shift to internal contradictions and ideological disparities within the APC.
In a recent statement, Lamido criticized the APC’s governance, describing it as tyrannical and lacking the capacity to address Nigeria’s complex challenges. He argued that the APC’s internal crises are indicative of an impending collapse, stating that the party cannot sustain the nation’s diverse needs and contradictions.
Lamido also addressed the recent defections from the PDP, attributing them to frustrations with the party’s leadership and judicial decisions that have undermined its stability. He emphasized that these issues have led to a sense of disenchantment among members, prompting some to seek alternatives.
Even though Ganduje brushed off Lamido’s claims by calling the PDP a “crumbling party,” the political situation is still changing, and both parties are dealing with different challenges.
