A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Dapo Lam-Adesina, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will reclaim Oyo State from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Monday, Lam-Adesina, who represented Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency between 2015 and 2019, said ongoing reforms by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would play a crucial role in delivering Oyo State to the ruling party.
According to him, several states previously controlled by opposition parties have aligned with the APC after witnessing the impact of the President’s policies, adding that Oyo State cannot afford to remain on the sidelines.
“For nearly eight years, Oyo State has been in the opposition and that does not bode well for us. With the trend across the country, we cannot afford to remain in the opposition come 2027,” he said.
Lam-Adesina also pointed to the party’s recent online registration exercise, describing it as a strategic move to expand membership and strengthen grassroots participation. He noted that mobilisation efforts across the state’s 33 local government areas were already gaining momentum.
He expressed optimism that with sustained grassroots engagement, internal unity, and alignment with the Federal Government’s reform agenda, the APC would secure victory in Oyo State in the next general election.
