The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara has dissolved all existing caucuses and internal groups across the state as part of efforts to reposition the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The state chapter announced the decision as part of a broader internal reconciliation and strategic realignment aimed at strengthening unity and restructuring the party’s internal arrangements ahead of the forthcoming electoral campaigns.
The dissolution affects the various caucuses and internal groups operating within the party across the state. The party leadership said the move was intended to provide a fresh platform for reconciliation among members and promote a more unified party structure ahead of the 2027 elections.
It also formed part of efforts to realign the party’s structures and strengthen its capacity to mobilise members and supporters across the state. The development comes as political parties begin preparations and internal mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The PDP leadership is expected to use the restructuring process to address internal differences and establish a more coordinated structure for its activities across Kwara.
The party has not indicated when new caucuses or internal groups would be constituted following the dissolution.
